Social Media… Learning How To Work It Right
You know that feeling when you have too many choices and you know you could handle one or two but you’ve only narrowed it down to four or five… That’s how it feels with me and social media.
I must say that even with a marketing background and years in retail and customer service, the switch to navigating social media and gaining traction there is HARD! I’m keeping at it and growing it slowly, but I’ve discovered that limiting the majority of my social interaction to a couple of main avenues helps with my sanity if nothing else… Right now that focus is on Facebook and Instagram, well that’s the two I think I can handle. Scratch that I was right the first time… those are the two I’m focusing on. Handle implies that I’ve got it, and I’m just learning how to represent a business on them. I do still play on Pinterest when I can and have some scheduled tweets going to Twitter, but on my own I just hate splitting my attention between so many platforms. Now, with Marlee’s help we are making it more of a priority.
I must say I really enjoyed traveling last week, meeting my business peeps who are trying to figure it all out too, and hopefully learning a few things to keep it all interesting for you. One day we’ll get it figured out, but for now we’re learning as we go. We look forward to the journey!
